About the studio
Haddad Studio is an artist-led studio founded by Ahmad Haddad in 2023 in the JAX area of Diriyah, as a place where practitioners work, learn and show.
The studio runs the Midad workshop programme, the Midad developmental residency in partnership with Lam Al-Qamariya, and art experiences such as Dialogue & Paint, and it rents its spaces for shoots, workshops and private sessions. The Midad workshops are held at Bayt Al-Thaqafa in Riyadh.
The founder
Ahmad Haddad
Ahmad Haddad (b. 1995, Madinah) is a Saudi artist-researcher and certified arts educator based in Riyadh, where he lives and works at Haddad Studio, an artist-led residency he founded in 2023 in the JAX District of Diriyah. His practice spans drawing, digital collage, installation, participatory performance and sound-based work, unified by a sustained inquiry into the nature of inner experience and its transmission through visual form. Since 2018 he has worked primarily with the blue ballpoint pen as a system of emotional inscription, building figures through anatomical distortion, Quranic script and gestural pressure. His long-term research project Your Artistic Reflection (2020–present) investigates how an artwork can carry the interior life of a person without depicting their appearance; across six annual iterations, 80+ participants have contributed psychological responses that Haddad translates into symbolic visual portraiture. Selected exhibitions: The Lost Other (POUSH, Paris, 2025), The Nest (Al Riwaq, Bahrain, 2025), Dimensions (Diriyah JAX, 2025), Delicacy of Dualities (Riyadh, 2024). Residencies: Intermix Diriyah (2024), Misk Art Residency (2025), Intermix POUSH Paris (2025).
