About this workshop
An art and self-awareness workshop. We begin with the exercise "Who am I, and who am I not?", then move to wider questions: what is art, and what is not? Who is the artist? We touch on themes every practitioner meets: nature, mythology, spirituality, our roles in life, colour, and buying and selling art. We write our answers, then read and discuss them together. After every three rounds we stop for a quick sketch, then return to writing, and we close with time set aside for drawing. You leave with a written list of your beliefs about art, knowing which serve you and which hold you back, sketches drawn from these questions, and a clear start to your artist statement. It opens a series of three workshops: Discover Your Pattern on Saturday 24 October, then Tajseed on Saturday 31 October.
